At Heartland Handymen LLC, we recently completed a staircase handrail installation in Manhattan. We added a new handrail along the lower stair run to match the existing one on the upper portion. Starting at the newel post at the top, the handrail runs down the stairs and ends into the wall at the bottom, with mitered returns at both ends for a seamless look. We attached the handrail to the newel post using the same method as the previous sections, ensuring a consistent, finished assembly. To secure the handrail, we used long brackets, set at the right spacing and height, and anchored into solid backing for maximum load-bearing capacity. This improved the safety of the staircase and enhanced its aesthetic appeal. Get an estimate today!
